Media reports have that the federal government has dropped one of its charges against Nnamdi Kanu.

The federal government has dropped one of the charges against the detained leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

This is as Human Rights Lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), who leads the delegation of legal practitioners representing the IPOB leader, urged the Court of Appeal, Abuja, to strike out the charges made against Kanu on grounds of incredibility, New Telegraph reports.

It was gathered that Kanu’s legal team, led by Ozekhome, brought up a strong defense over allegations of terrorism and treasonable felony.

The IPOB leader’s legal representatives through an appeal marked No: CA/ABJ/CR/ 625/2022 challenged the remaining allegations against Kanu. However, during the hearing, the court struck out the motion for an accelerated hearing filed by Kanu’s legal team on his behalf.

Also, the court reserved the judgment on an appeal filed by Kanu, seeking to quash the terrorism and treasonable felony charge.
