In a swift response to a viral video showing two officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) manhandling a female staff of Regional Hotel in Ojo, Lagos, the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered the immediate arrest of the officers involved.
The officers were part of a team that conducted an early morning sting operation at the hotel, which resulted in the arrest of several suspects. However, their unprofessional conduct has sparked outrage, prompting the EFCC chairman to take swift action.

Olukoyede has also ordered a thorough investigation into the operation and assured that appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken against any officer found culpable. The chairman reiterated the commission’s commitment to professionalism and respect for the rule of law.
The incident occurred on June 27, 2024, and the EFCC has moved quickly to address the situation. The commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development in a statement.
This move by the EFCC demonstrates its commitment to accountability and ensuring that its officers conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
