Teens Connect Africa and Global Changemakers Set to Empower Over 120 Teenagers in Zuba Community Through Talent Development and Skill Acquisition Project, Launched to Mark World Youth Skills Day.

In commemoration of World Youth Skills Day, Teens Connect Africa, in collaboration with Global Changemakers, has launched an ambitious project aimed at empowering over 120 teenagers in the Zuba community through “Talent Development and Skill Acquisition Project. The initiative, which officially kicked off with a successful screening on Sunday, July 16th, 2023, at the Women Development Centre in Zuba, signifies a significant step forward in addressing the urgent need for skill development among the youth.

World Youth Skills Day, celebrated annually on July 15th, serves as a global platform to promote the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning. The launch of this project aligns perfectly with the objectives of the day, as it seeks to provide tangible opportunities for teenagers in Zuba to enhance their skills and unleash their potential.

The screening event garnered tremendous support and enthusiasm from the community, attracting a diverse group of teenagers eager to develop their talents and acquire valuable skills. The project offers comprehensive training in various fields, including hairdressing, confectionery, barbering, fashion designing, and talent development in singing, acting, dancing, and presenting. By providing these teenagers with the means to acquire practical skills, the initiative aims to enhance their employability prospects and foster a spirit of entrepreneurship.

Recognizing the pressing issue of unemployment and limited opportunities for youth in the Zuba community, Teens Connect Africa and Global Changemakers have joined forces to address this challenge head-on. Through talent and skills development, they aim to empower the youth to become catalysts for positive change within their community.
