A video showing the moment the Ekweremadus and their doctor, Obinna Obeta, were sentenced by a judge at the Central Criminal Court also known as Old Bailey has been shared online.
Having been convicted for Organ trafficking in March, the judge today, May 5, sentenced the former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu to Nine years and eight months in jail, his wife Beatrice Ekweremadu to four years and six months while Obeta bagged 10 years in jail.
From what the judge said, Ekweremadu will spend about 5/6 years in prison (2/3 of his 9+ year prison sentence) while his wife will spend about 2 years in prison (one half of her 4+ years in prison).
