‘Very easy decision’ – Victor Osimhen sends clear message after Chelsea transfer collapse
Victor Osimhen claims it was a “very easy decision” to join Galatasaray after hearing about their interest in him despite Chelsea trying to sign the striker on transfer deadline day.
Osimhen, 25, has joined the Turkish team on loan from Napoli for the remainder of this season. The Italian club have also confirmed they have agreed with the player to retain an option to extend their agreement until 2027.
A new deal would also reputedly reduce Osimhen’s release clause to €75million (£63m) from a reported €130m (£110m). That is almost in line with the €80m (£67m) offer from Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli that Napoli reportedly accepted.

Osimhen, however, is seemingly happy in Turkey. “When I heard of the interest from Galatasaray, it was a very easy decision for me,” he has told Galatasaray TV in an interview dubbed into Turkish and translated back into English.
“I knew how big Galatasaray was and how much like a family it was, and it had incredible fans. “Henry (Onyekuru) is my friend and he played for Galatasaray before and is still a fan. He told me how wonderful the people here are, so it was an easy decision for me.”
Osimhen also mentioned former Napoli teammate Dries Mertens, who now plays for Galatasaray. “It’s really amazing,” the striker said. “I also spoke with him. He supported me a lot when I first went to Italy; he was like a brother to me. He was always by my side. He is a name I respect very much.
“Of course, I will be a teammate with him again here too. I’m very excited about it. I was already watching the Galatasaray matches, how Mertens has been playing since he came here, how he is improving as a person, how he is improving as a player, I wanted to follow this.”
