Sowore Reunited With His Family After Five Years Of Being Restricted From Travelling
It was a joyful moment for Sowore and his family as they finally got to hug each other after five long years.
Sowore, a Nigerian activist and journalist, had been barred from traveling abroad by the government since 2019 when he was arrested for organizing a protest.
He was released on bail in 2020, but his passport was seized and he faced several charges of treason and terrorism.
After a prolonged legal battle, the court finally ordered the return of his passport and lifted the travel ban on him last week.
Sowore wasted no time in booking a flight to the US, where his wife and children live. He shared photos of their emotional reunion on social media, thanking his supporters and lawyers for their efforts.
He also vowed to continue his fight for democracy and human rights in Nigeria.
