Six beauty queens to emerge Nov 24 at Lolo Igbo Cultural Pageant 2017
Vine Shield Limited, organizers of the prestigious Igbo Awards and Lolo Igbo Cultural Pageant have announced that six new Lolos (beauty queens) will emerge at the 2017 edition of Igbo Awards.
The prestigious Igbo Awards, organized by Vine Shield Limited will be held in Enugu, Nigeria on November 24 where other 13 Igbo sons and daughters will be given awards to appraise them for their contributions to the development of the Igbo Heritage in different ramifications.
The event will also be an opportunity to reward students who have participated in the National Students Igbo Essay Competition, in the secondary and tertiary category.
In a statement signed by Mazi Onukwube Ofoelue, Executive Director of Vine Shield Limited, Lolo Igbo Cultural Pageant organized annually to chose emergent winners who will eventually replace the former Lolos and reign for one year. It’s organized side by side with Igbo Awards.
Processes towards the event include the nominations where 13 people emerged, auditions for Lolo Igbo pageant,and subsequent camping, as well as students essay writing competition.
The grand finale of the event, which is also the Awards Ceremony of Igbo Awards will be held on the 24th November, 2017, at Victoria Hall, Summerhill Place, 20 Premier Layout, by New Artisan, Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, Enugu.
The statement pointed out that at the moment, contestants for the 2017 are camping at Maria Island Resort, Ndibe Beach , Afikpo. The camp will last for ten days and end on the eve of the grand finale, which is Thursday, 23rd November, 2017.
The events are organized annually by Vine Shield Limited to celebrate culture, tradition and peoples of Igbo descent.
