President Bola Ahmed Tinubu called for a spirit of sacrifice among Nigerians as he joined the Eid-el-Kabir prayers in Lagos on Sunday.

Speaking to journalists after the prayer, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of sacrifice in moving the nation forward. He echoed the theme of the sermon delivered by the Chief Imam of Lagos, stressing that citizenship comes with responsibilities.

“We must be willing to make sacrifices as good citizens, love our country, love our neighbors, share what we have with each other, and always be thankful to Almighty God,” President Tinubu said.

The President’s message of sacrifice and unity resonated with the festive atmosphere of Eid-el-Kabir, a celebration of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command.

As Nigeria marks this important Islamic holiday, President Tinubu’s call to sacrifice is seen as a reminder of the country’s collective responsibility to work towards a brighter future.
