Police Detain Social Critic VeryDarkMan Over Unauthorized Use of Police Uniform

Controversial social critic Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, has been detained by the Nigeria Police Force after honoring an invitation. His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed the detention, stating that VeryDarkMan had also honored a similar invitation the previous day.

The reason for his detention is still unclear, but it’s worth noting that the police had recently condemned VeryDarkMan’s use of a police uniform in one of his videos. In the video, he jokingly introduced himself as a “Chief Superintendent of Police of the Online Division.” This action sparked backlash, leading to an investigation to determine the source of the attire.

VeryDarkMan later apologized for wearing the uniform and advised Nigerians to seek proper authorization before wearing police attire to avoid misunderstandings or legal repercussions .

The police have been tight-lipped about the detention, with Force Spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi unavailable for comment. This development raises concerns about the relationship between the police and social critics like VeryDarkMan.
