#IYD2020: YES PROJECT INITIATIVE, COMMEND PRESIDENT BUHARI, MINISTER OF YOUTH FOR YOUTH INVESTMENT FUND
YES PROJECT INITIATIVE a Non-governmental organisation has commended president Buhari for approving N75bn Youth Investment Fund.
A statement signed by the chairman BoT of the organisation Mohammed Danjuma in Abuja on wednesday noted that, given the magnitude of unemployed youths in the country and the degree of poverty they face the investment fund will go a long way in salvaging the situation.
“On behalf of the board and management of YES Project Initiative, the entire members and the teeming Nigerian youths, I wish to express my deep appreciation and to commend Mr President for approving the N75bn Youth Investment Fund.
Given the magnitude of unemployed youths in the country and the degree of poverty they face, I am optimistic that the investment fund will go a long way in salvaging the situation especially in this covid-19 era.
He further said that “there’s is no gain saying that Nigeria is blessed with a huge population of highly energetic young people. But sadly, a lot of them roam the streets in search of non existent jobs and consequently, some of them have taken to criminal activities.
It is an established fact that when youths are gainfully employed and meanigfully engaged, they can contribute not only to their immediate wellbeing and of their families but to the society at large.
Nigeria’s youths are the nation’s most valuable assets and investing in them, is investing in national development.”
“This is why we consider the Youth Investment Fund initiative a very loudable project and also timely.
As an organization that has championed youth empowerment for some years now, I make a special appeal to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and other MDAs saddled with the responsibility of administering this fund, to consider getting YES Project Initiative involved in the implementation this project.
Having worked with youths for many years and are constantly in touch with them, we believe there is a lot we can bring to the table if and when granted the opportunity.
Once again, i convey my deepest appreciation to Mr President and the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports development for coming up with this initiative at such a time as this,” the statement concluded.
