Imo 2023: Hope Uzodimma unveils running mate

Imo State governor and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hope Uzodinma has dumped his deputy, Prof. Placid Njoku, ahead of the November 11, 2023 governorship election in the state.
Uzodimma, yesterday, officially unveiled his running mate, Chinyere Ekomaru in Owerri, the state capital.
Uzodimma said his decision to replace Njoku with Ekomaru was based on “ecumenical and political permutations,” and not because he had issues with the current deputy governor.

Ahead of the governorship election in the state, Uzodimma is hoping to retain power in the state and defeat governorship candidates of the Action Alliance (AA), Gen. Lincoln Ogunewe(rtd); Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu; Labour Party (LP), Senator Athan Achonu and others.
Gen. Ogunewe and Senator Anyanwu are from the Imo East Senatorial zone), while Senator Athan is from Imo North and Uzodinma is from Imo West.
