Football Legend, Samuel Eto’o Retires After 22 years
The Cameroonian legend, Samuel Eto’o has announced the end of his football career after 22 years.
He declared his retirement through an Instagram post with the caption, “The End.Towards a new challenge. Thank you all, big love.”
The 38-year-old football icon has enjoyed a successful career which earned him three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies with Barcelona.
Eto’o started his career with Real Madrid and has played for 13 different clubs including Barcelona, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Everton, Sampdoria and later Qatar Star League, where he retired.
The forward player, throughout his career, has scored 56 goals in 118 appearances for his nation, earning him a nomination of African Player of the Year four times.
He also helped his country to win Olympic gold at the 2000 Games in Australia, and the Africa Cup of Nations in 2000 and 2002.
