Enugu Rangers Declare Readiness for CAF Champions League

Rangers International FC of Enugu, the newly crowned champions of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), have announced their preparedness to compete in the Confederation of African Cup (CAF) Champions League starting in August.

General Manager Barr. Amobi Ezeaku, flanked by Afrinvest’s Group Managing Director Dr. Ike Chioke and Hon. Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development Barr. Lioyd Ekweremadu, confirmed the team’s readiness to fly Nigeria’s flag in the African elite club competition.

Ezeaku acknowledged the championship’s formidable nature but expressed confidence in the team’s ability to compete favourably, thanks to scouting efforts that have bolstered the squad with seasoned players from across the continent.

The club commended Governor Peter Mbah and the state ministry of sports for their support and Afrinvest for their sponsorship, which has helped market the team globally.

The state government has promised to renovate the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium to meet international standards before the CAF competition and plans to build stadiums across all senatorial districts to enhance sports development.

With a strong squad and support base, Rangers aim to make Nigeria proud in the CAF Champions League.
