#EndBadGovernance: Senator Ireti Kingibe Debunks Misleading Video, Condemns “Orchestrated Attempt” to Discredit Her and Peter Obi

Senator Ireti Kingibe, the senator representing the Federal Capital Territory has expressed outrage and shock over a misleading video circulating on social media, falsely claiming that she and Labour Party’s Peter Obi led protests in Abuja yesterday.
In a statement, Kingibe revealed that the footage is from over six weeks ago, during a Labour Party NWC meeting, when she and other stakeholders, including Senators and House of Reps members, engaged with protesters outside the Labour Party office to address their concerns.

Kingibe denied being in Abuja yesterday, stating she has been ill and hasn’t left her house since Wednesday. She also clarified that Peter Obi is not in Abuja.
The Senator condemned the “orchestrated attempt” to spread falsehoods, discredit her and Obi, and cause confusion. She described the act as “shameless and irresponsible” and vowed not to stand idly by while her reputation is dragged through the mud.
Kingibe’s statement reads:
- “I condemn this orchestrated attempt to spread falsehoods and cause confusion…”
- “We will not stand idly by while our names and reputations are dragged through the mud by these unscrupulous individuals.”
