Drake Shows Off His New Air Drake Plane: ‘No Rental, No Timeshare’
Drake, a guy who once wrote a little song called “Summer Games” that arguably makes the listener feel as though they’re zooming high above the clouds, has shared footage of his new private plane. Fittingly, the craft has been dubbed Air Drake.
Drake, a guy who once wrote a little song called “Summer Games” that arguably makes the listener feel as though they’re zooming high above the clouds, has shared footage of his new private plane. Fittingly, the craft has been dubbed Air Drake.
“No rental, no timeshare,” Drake confirms in the Instagram clip, which serves as the latest reminder that air travel for us mere pedestrians is truly a shit experience. The 6 God also gives a quick tour of the inside of the massive sky vehicle, which comes complete with an also massive pair of praying hands emblazoned on the side.
A subsequent Yahoo report added some context to Drake’s big move into the skies. Drake has partnered with Canadian company Cargojet, who said in a press release Friday that they were “thrilled” to bring together two regional corporations with individual proven successes.
“Supporting home grown businesses has always been a top priority of mine, so when an opportunity came up to get involved with a great Canadian company I was honored to do so,” Drake, a longtime Cargojet champion, said.
While the craft itself seemingly marks a fresh build, the general “Air Drake” concept has its roots in a 2010 Virgin America stunt of the same name. Per an ancient Billboard report at the time, Virgin temporarily turned an Airbus A320 into an “Air Drake” party co-hosted by Richard Branson and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The new Air Drake craft will likely stack up plenty of miles in the months ahead, with some fans currently convinced that we can expect a Drake feature on Taylor Swift’s upcoming album. Fans also have eyes on possible collabs in the works with Megan Thee Stallion and Chris Brown, the latter of which was recently heard in a snippet of a presumed Indigo cut.
Additionally, the world is still waiting for some sort of “Summer Games” visual, which has in no way been teased or otherwise mentioned by anyone at team Drake but still needs to be a thing that happens anyways.
