Hon. Obinna Ichita

Hon. Ichita said that all his efforts including that of his colleagues in the state assembly to draw the attention of the state government to the sufferings of his constituents are not yielding any result.

“For some time now, we have drawn the attention of Abia State government to our plight but nothing has been done. We have been ignored by the government that should protect us,” he said.

He lamented that despite securing $56 million USD from World Bank for the construction of Ohanku road, Obohia road, Ngwa road, Port Harcourt road, Uratta road and Omuma road, those roads have become impassable day by day.

Dear constituents and friends,It is settled that our environment is not fit for human habitation as could be seen in the mountains of refuse that litter various parts of Aba South and the horrible nature of our roads.

It is also a known fact that the 56 Million US dollars secured from the World Bank for the construction of Ohanku road, Obohia road, Ngwa road, Port Harcourt road, Uratta road and Omuma road, all in Aba South constituency has not yielded any result as none of the roads mentioned can be accessed end-to-end. For some time now, we have drawn the attention of Abia State government to our plight but nothing has been done. We have been ignored by the government that should protect us.

On the 14th day of July, 2021, I informed you that The Abia State House of Assembly passed a resolution asking the Abia State Governement to come to the rescue of the People of Aba South constituency, whose environment and roads have been reduced to a sub-human condition, yet the Abia state government refused to comply with this resolution. The concomitant effect is the continued sufferings experienced by our people every day.

Since democracy is defined as “the government of the people by the people and for the people”, I hereby invite the PEOPLE of Aba South Constituency to an Emergency Town Hall Meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, 25th August, 2021.

Venue is Aba South Constituency Office, 20 Port Harcourt road, Aba by 12 noon.

Please don’t forget to share this information with others and endeavor to attend as vital issues that concern the people of Aba South Constituency will be discussed and decisions will be taken.

Remember, “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have taken sides with the oppressor”

“ The POWER of the PEOPLE is greater than the people in Power “ Aluta Continua !
