Watch How Burna Boy Arrived In Spaceship At His O2 Arena Concert
Great Concerts are a result of great Showmanship. Every Artist should Understand that. Burna Boy does. From Arriving in a giant Gorilla, Burna Boy has taken it twice a notch this time at the O2 Arena by arriving the stage in a Spaceship. An Ode to the “Space Drift” and the obvious “On a Spaceship” Label which he is a KEY part of.
The Grammy Award winner’s dramatic entrance was heralded by a montage that covered UFO sightings in typical Hollywood style and Burna Boy’s poetic demystification of his journey. With Lights and smoke for Effect, Odogwu ends up on stage from below the spaceship and the crowd goes wild!
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Not too many Artistes in Africa are known for this sort of showmanship, In fact the closest contemporary Artiste to think of for Showmanship of the sort in the continent, is Cassper Nyovest who has pulled all the stops in his #FillUp events. These shows become memorable and are applauded worldwide because of the Stage Presence and showmanship.
This is important because as the world turns towards our Music, it is important for them to also see that the typical African is daring to be the best. It is important for the world to see our Culture and Our Music. The extent to which we are creatively owning up and it is important for them NOT TO FORGET.
For the world to remind themselves that they saw Burna Boy, pull off that which they thought that for African Music would be impossible. But African Music did come out of a spaceship last night at the O2 Arena.
If anybody told you that 10 years ago, it would have sounded Crazy!
Afrobeats to the World!
