Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Wike’s Ally Sam Anyanwu as Legitimate PDP National Secretary
The Supreme Court has nullified the judgment that removed Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According tio report, this decision was made by a five-member panel of the apex court, which ruled that the debate over the position is an internal affair of the party and should not be adjudicated on.
Anyanwu, an ally of Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, had been embroiled in a leadership tussle with Udeh-Okoye over the position of national secretary. The Court of Appeal had previously ruled in favor of Udeh-Okoye, but Anyanwu appealed the decision and filed for a stay of execution at the Supreme Court.
In its verdict, the Supreme Court set aside the judgments of the Court of Appeal and the Federal High Court, which had sacked Anyanwu as National Secretary. The court held that the plaintiff, Aniagu Emmanuel, lacked the necessary legal backing to file the case, as he failed to show how he was affected by who the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is.
