‘Stockpile food ahead of prolonged protests’ – Sowore Calls for Nationwide Shutdown in Response to Tinubu’s Speech
Omoyele Sowore, journalist and Convener of the #RevolutionNow Movement, has called for a total shutdown of the country in response to President Bola Tinubu’s address to the nation earlier today.
Speaking on News Central TV, Sowore expressed disappointment and frustration with the President’s speech, stating that it failed to address the demands of protesters and showed no willingness to connect with the issues affecting Nigerians.
Sowore urged Nigerians to prepare for a prolonged shutdown, advising them to stockpile food and essentials. He also encouraged workers to stay away from work and transporters to avoid highways, with the aim of bringing the country to a standstill.
The call for a shutdown comes as the #RevolutionNow movement marks its fifth anniversary on August 5, with plans for massive action across Nigeria.
