A registered group of the All Progressives Congress, APC under the auspices of the Coalition of APC Integrity Groups, has called on the National Leadership of the party to unanimously endorse Senator Abdulaziz Yari for Senate President.

The group made the call in Abuja during its pre-stakeholder’s meeting on Saturday 13th May 2023. In a statement signed by the convener, Alhaji Mai Kasuwa Kasuwa says the choice of Yari is the best for the country, especially at a time the nation is begging for unity and peaceful coexistence.

Kasuwa described Senator Yari as a man of honour who served as the Chairman of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum and a former member of the House of Representatives. He was elected Senator in 2019 before the ill-fated judgment that robbed the APC of entire victory in Zamfara State. Yari is currently a Senator-elect and a frontline contender for the office of the senate President of the 10th Assembly.

We believe that the President-elect needs a partner to drive the nation’s economy and bring development to the doorsteps of Nigerians. Kasuwa insists that the two power blocs are the North and South, if the South has the President of the Country, the North should have the Senate President of the Nation.

He further appeals to Senators elect to look inward for a transformation expert like Abdulaziz Yari and endorse him as the sole candidate for the senate president for national development. In his words” Ours is an appeal, and we shall continue to do so until Yari emerges as the Senate President of Nigeria.

It is a known fact that Senator Yari had served the Nation in the capacity of Chairman of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, a position he used in organizing all the thirty-six state governors in Nigeria, most of whom are members of the Senate at present.

They will vote for their own, who is a better candidate than all other aspirants at the moment.
