PDP Sweeps Rivers LG Polls
The rivers state independent electoral commission RSIEC, has declared the chairmanship candidates of the people’s democratic party. PDP winners in the twenty three local council areas of the state in last Saturday’s local government elections.

Chairman of RSIEC, retired justice Chukwinenye Uriri, who announced the results said the declared candidates scored the highest votes cast in the exercise.
Some contestants and party agents in Degema local government area had accused the electoral umpire of not providing a level playing ground for all the political parties.
However, the independent national electoral commission, INEC has been advised to emulate the peaceful and transparent conduct of the polls by the rivers state independent electoral commission, RSIEC, in future elections.
