Olumide Akpata: Peter Obi Launches Labour Party’s Edo Gubernatorial Campaign in Benin City

Former presidential candidate Peter Obi inaugurated the Labour Party’s campaign office in Benin City on Saturday, ahead of the September 21 governorship election.
Despite the rain, Obi and other party leaders embarked on a road walk, visiting major streets and the Uwelu Spare market, where they received a warm welcome from traders.
Obi and the party’s governorship candidate, Barrister Olumide Akpata, also paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Benin, seeking his blessings and prayers for a victorious election.
Obi emphasized the importance of free, fair, and credible elections for Nigeria’s greatness. Akpata expressed confidence in the party’s strength and vision to rescue the state from bad governance.
The Oba of Benin wished the party well as they begin their campaigns, seeking to bring democratic dividends to all 18 local government areas of the state.
This move solidifies Labour Party’s presence in Edo State, offering a strong alternative in the upcoming election.
