NYMA Urges Rivers Youths to Harness Opportunities and Drive Development

Ima-owaji Shedrack, the Rivers State Coordinator of Nigeria Youth Movement for Asiwaju (NYMA), has called on young people across State to seize every available opportunities and channel their energy into productive and transformative ventures.

He made this call during an interview in commemoration of International Youth Day 2025, themed “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond.”

Ima-owaji described Rivers youths as “a powerhouse of innovation, resilience, and potential,” encouraging them to embrace entrepreneurship, technology, agriculture, the creative industries, and peace-building initiatives to boost sustainable development in the state.

According to him, “Our youthfulness is our greatest asset,” he stated. “This is the time to dream boldly, act decisively, and work collectively for the progress of our communities. Rivers State is blessed with abundant natural resources and the unmatched energy of its young people.”

He further emphasized that the future of the state depends largely on the commitment of young people to transform challenges into opportunities, adding, “The future is not a distant place we are heading to, it is a reality we are building today.”

International Youth Day is observed annually on August 12 to recognize the contributions of young people to development and inspire action towards a better future.
