Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has made a triumphant return to her constituency in Kogi Central, despite efforts by the state government and the Nigeria Police to stop her homecoming. The Kogi State Government had banned rallies and public gatherings, citing security concerns, and even stopped fishing activities in some areas.
The police had also issued security alerts, warning the senator to cancel her planned rally due to potential security threats. However, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was undeterred, arriving by helicopter to a jubilant crowd of supporters in Okehi Local Government Area.
In a bold speech, she reaffirmed her connection to the Ebira land and its people, stating, βNobody and nothing can stop me from coming home. Iβm an Ebira woman; this is my land.β
Her return has intensified the already charged atmosphere in Kogi Central, with many seeing her homecoming rally as a symbol of her resilience amid escalating tensions with the state government .
