Nigerian TikTok star and content creator, Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has safely returned after an alleged abduction that unfolded live on social media on Wednesday night, August 27, 2025.

Peller, who was driving back from buying food, was livestreaming when armed men appeared to confront him. In clips that quickly went viral, he could be heard telling the gunmen: “You dey carry gun, Ogun wan kill you? Calm down jor. Na who you come dey point gun for?”

The heated exchange was followed by dragging sounds before voices announced that Peller had been taken to an unknown location. The video did not capture the faces of the assailants.

The incident immediately triggered panic online, with fellow entertainers including Carter Efe and Jo Blaq raising alarms about his safety and confirming he was missing. Police were alerted as hashtags calling for his rescue trended across Nigerian social media.

Hours later, reports confirmed that Peller had been found safe at a police station, though details of how he was rescued or released remain unclear.

The dramatic episode has sparked debates over Nigeria’s worsening insecurity, while others remain skeptical, questioning whether the incident was a real abduction or a staged stunt.
