JCI Abuja Unity Donates Solar Lamps To School in Abuja

Junior Chamber International, JCI Abuja Unity on Monday donated over 15 solar lamps to Government Secondary School Students in Jikwoyi Karu, Abuja.

The event was to mark  International literacy Day and as part of its Education Impact Project tagged “Brightening the Future” which gears towards  making  serious commitment to promoting quality education for all.

The project according to Mrs Vivian Amalu President JCI Abuja Unity, was carried out in fulfilment of the organisations commitment to supporting students writing final (WAEC) transition examination during COVID-19 pandemic.

Over 156 students were sensitize on covid-19 pandemic and safety measures to curbing the novel  virus.

The Solar Lamps were given to the best performed students during the question and answer session during the awareness and sensitization campaign led by Mr Success Ikponmwosa 2020 Secretary of JCI Abuja Unity.

Mrs Vivian encouraged the students to study hard and maintain high personal hygiene as well as high literacy level amid the challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic as they all received solar powered lamps and safety materials from JCI ABUJA UNITY.

In her response Mrs. Hauwa Olaniyan the principal of the school thanked JCI Abuja Unity and promised that the students will make good use of the materials.

Present at the event was Mrs Joyce Lawrence  2020 National Executive President , JCI Nigeria Northwest.
