Ahead of the 2020/2021 academic year, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has cautioned tertiary institutions with the habit of offering admissions to candidates without following the guidelines on the Central Admission Processing System, CAPS.
The board made this known at a presentation by its Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, in Abuja, where he listed the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; the University of Ibadan; and the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ogun State as examples.
The JAMB boss also sighted examples of how qualified candidates were denied admissions due to tertiary institutions admitting candidates through the back door.
Oloyede however called on defaulting institutions to desist from such illegitimate Acts or risk JAMB not regularizing their admissions.
