“If Anything Happens to Me or My Children, Lizzy Anjorin Should Be Held Responsible” – Iyabo Ojo Fires Back at Colleague
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has publicly accused fellow actress Lizzy Anjorin of endangering her life and the safety of her children, in an explosive statement shared via social media on Friday.
“If anything happens to me or my children, Lizzy Anjorin should be held responsible,” Ojo wrote, escalating what has become one of the most intense and public feuds in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
The statement comes amid Ojo’s ongoing campaign for justice over the controversial death of late singer Mohbad, which has drawn both praise and fierce criticism. Ojo has previously alleged that she and her family have received death threats, and she now claims Anjorin has contributed to the toxic rhetoric surrounding her.
While Ojo did not provide specific details in the post, her message strongly suggests that she believes Anjorin has played a role in the escalation of attacks, defamation, or threats directed at her online and offline.
This is not the first time the two Nollywood figures have clashed. Their relationship has been marked by years of underlying tension, occasional online spats, and conflicting political alignments.
So far, Lizzy Anjorin has not responded publicly to Ojo’s latest accusation.
Fans and colleagues have taken to social media to express concern, with some calling for intervention by Nollywood guilds or security agencies to prevent the conflict from spiraling further.
Iyabo Ojo has reiterated her commitment to speaking out, regardless of the risks, stating that her advocacy for justice and freedom of expression will not be silenced.
Iyabo Ojo Alleges Death Threats Against Her Family Over Justice Campaign for Mohbad Sparks Reactions
Nollywood actress and activist Iyabo Ojo has raised alarm over alleged death threats to her and her family due to her persistent demands for justice in the case of late singer Mohbad.
In a lengthy Instagram statement, the 47-year-old revealed that her life, business, and children have come under threat from individuals angered by her involvement in the ongoing investigation surrounding Mohbad’s controversial death.
Mohbad, a rising Afrobeats star, died on September 12, 2023, under circumstances that sparked public outrage. He was buried the following day, but intense pressure from fans and civil society led to the exhumation of his body for an autopsy.
While investigations continue, online conversations around the case have reignited in recent weeks. Activist VeryDarkMan has featured prominently in these renewed discussions, engaging with people close to Mohbad and stirring online debates.
In one viral video, a man identified as Saheed Jamiu hurled curses at Iyabo Ojo, accusing her of protecting Omowunmi, Mohbad’s partner, and of being complicit in the singer’s death.
Ojo, however, denied ever accusing anyone directly of killing Mohbad. She clarified that her emotional early reactions were in response to disturbing videos circulating at the time of the singer’s death.
“I never at any point accused anyone of killing Mohbad,” she said. “What I did was to demand justice and clarity, just like many Nigerians did.”
She further disclosed that Omowunmi requested three separate DNA tests, one of which was conducted at a hospital in the United States. The actress stated she had no reason to question the tests or interfere in any way.
Despite cooperating with law enforcement and formally petitioning the police for a full investigation, Ojo said her public activism has turned her into a target.
“Certain individuals have, over the years, consistently called for my death, the destruction of my source of livelihood, and have incited public violence against me and my children,” she wrote. “It is, therefore, not surprising to now see coffins inscribed with my name, barefaced videos threatening my life and properties…”
Ojo said her continued advocacy is rooted in a deep sense of justice, and although the threats have caused fear, she finds comfort in her faith and commitment to truth.
Police authorities have yet to issue an official response regarding the threats or ongoing investigation.
