BONA NAIJAParis Saint-Germain will take a 1-0 lead into next week’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Arsenal.
The only goal of the first leg came after just four minutes, as Ousmane Dembele whipped a left-footed strike off the post and past David Raya.
Arsenal struggled to match the intensity of their visitors initially, but grew into the game with Gianluigi Donnarumma making a couple of superb saves. He could not keep out Mikel Merino’s 47th minute header but it was subsequently disallowed for offside.
As Arsenal pushed for a leveller, Bradley Barcola and Goncalo Ramos both went close to doubling PSG’s advantage before the final whistle.
The two teams meet at Parc des Princes in Paris next Wednesday for the second leg.
Mikel Arteta’s side will have to come from behind in Paris if they want to reach the Champions League final, following defeat at Emirates Stadium.
