FCT Police Release Statement on Suspected Ritual Attempt in Abuja Hotel

The police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Thursday night, confirmed the arrest of an alleged internet fraudster also known as “Yahoo Boy,” who allegedly lured a young woman for money rituals in Abuja hotel..

The suspect was arrested by the Nigerian Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for an alleged attempt to endanger the life of a female victim in his hotel room.

A statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh on Thursday was accompanied by a video that captured the victim, unclad, and confined to a seat where she had been tied up with tape.

Social media was awash on Thursday after a video clip showed the young lady confined in a room with her legs tied.

It was learned that she was allegedly confined by her boyfriend at the Top View Hotel, Wuse, Abuja, for a money ritual.

Voices in the background further gave details of the situation, stating that the hotel only got wind of the suspect’s act after a staff member of its room service unit raised the alarm of potential threats in the suspect’s room.

SP Adeh said, “Findings revealed that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken the suspect into custody and are yet to hand over to the police for diligent investigation.

“The FCT Police Command, for all intents and purposes, awaits the NSCDC to hand over all parties for the commencement of diligent and discreet investigation.

“Further developments will be communicated in due course.”
