Nigerian music sensations Davido and Lojay, alongside South African Grammy winner Tyla, have been named among Billboard’s 2024 Honour Roll artists. This esteemed list celebrates artists who have achieved a No. 1 hit on the R&B, Rap, or Rhythmic charts.
Tyla, in particular, stood out with her Global Impact Award for her chart-topping hit “Water,” which dominated the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart for 44 weeks. The song’s success extended to multiple charts, reaching the top 10 on the Hot 100 and No. 1 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop and Rhythmic Airplay charts.
Billboard praised “Water” for its genre-blending sound, which resonated with diverse audiences worldwide, cementing Tyla’s status as a trailblazer in Afrobeats and R&B.
