This approach would streamline the supply chain, eliminate unnecessary intermediaries, and potentially lead to cost savings. It’s a logical move, considering the refinery’s goal of maximizing efficiency and contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth.
“All we are asking for, is for refineries in Nigeria to buy crude directly from the companies that produce it in Nigeria rather than from international middlemen.” A statement by Dangote reads.
By cutting out middlemen, Dangote Refinery aims to:
- Reduce reliance on international markets
- Boost local economic activity
- Increase efficiency in the supply chain
- Potentially lower costs
Will this request be granted? Only time will tell, but it’s a step in the right direction towards a more self-sufficient and efficient Nigerian oil industry.
