Charlie Kirk, U.S. Conservative Activist and Trump Ally, Killed in Utah Campus Shooting

Conservative activist Charlie Kirk, a prominent figure in the U.S. right-wing movement and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on Wednesday during a public appearance at Utah Valley University. He was 31.

Authorities said Kirk was struck by a single shot fired from outside the campus venue while addressing students as part of his “American Comeback Tour.” He was transported to a local hospital but later died of his injuries. Investigators from the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting local police in what has become the latest high-profile incident of political violence in the United States.

The attack triggered a campus-wide lockdown, with students sheltering in classrooms and dormitories for hours before being evacuated. As of late Wednesday, no suspect had been identified and no motive disclosed.

Former President Trump, writing on his social media platform Truth Social, described Kirk as “a warrior for freedom and a great friend.” Vice President JD Vance called the incident “a national tragedy.”
