BREAKING: UK Court Adjourns Alison-Madueke’s Fraud Case To 2025

The Westminster Magistrates Court in the UK has adjourned the hearing on the case involving former Nigerian Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, to November 2025.

The UK government charged her with bribery, oil contract fraud, and other offenses on August 22, 2023.

She was charged by the National Crime Agency (NCA) due to allegations of accepting bribes in exchange for awarding multi-million-pound oil and gas contracts.

Diezani Alison-Madueke served as a minister during the administration of former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan from 2010 to 2015 and was also the president of OPEC.

Andy Kelly, Head of the NCA’s International Corruption Unit, stated that they suspect she abused her power in Nigeria and accepted financial rewards for awarding contracts, and these charges mark a significant point in a comprehensive international investigation.

The NCA accuses Alison-Madueke of benefitting from at least £100,000 in cash, chauffeur-driven cars, private jet flights, luxury holidays for her family, and the use of multiple London properties.

Assets worth millions of pounds related to the alleged offenses have already been frozen as part of the ongoing investigation
