Biafra: IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu calls off election boycott, gives reason

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has called off the boycott of the 2019 election.

Kanu had urged Igbos to not take part within the polls till sure circumstances had been met.

In a tweet Thursday night time, Kanu defined reason for the change of stance.

He mentioned: “Having confirmed this night that every one our preconditions and phrases have been met, signed, sealed and delivered; I hereby call-off the election boycott throughout Biafraland on Feb. 16, 2019.

Meanwhile, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin, Chief of Defence Staff, has warned that no type of intimidation or harassment can be tolerated on election days.

An announcement he signed on Thursday mentioned: “Members of the general public are additionally suggested to ignore the decision to remain at house on the day of the election being circulated in some elements of the nation.

“The stay-at-home leaflets being circulated and related on-line messages are a part of the handiwork of mischief makers who’re bent on scuttling the method and must be ignored.
