BONA NAIJANigeria’s Super Eagles secured a thrilling 1-0 victory over Libya in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
The winning goal was scored by Fisayo Dele-Bashiru in the 86th minute, courtesy of a brilliant assist from Moses Simon. This nail-biting finish ensured the Super Eagles maintained their unbeaten record in Group D.
The team’s solid performance was a testament to their focus and determination. As Dele-Bashiru emphasized before the match, “You cannot overlook any team when it comes to football. It’s 11v11. If you’re not 100 percent going into the game, for sure your opponent is going to be 100 percent” .
This win marks the Super Eagles’ fifth consecutive victory over Libya, with their overall record now standing at 4-0-1 against the Mediterranean Knights. The team’s impressive run has catapulted them to the top of Group D with four points, setting them up for a strong chance to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations .
