The Northern Progressive Young Women For Tinubu/Shettima proudly announces its endorsement of Hon. Tajudeen Abbas as Speaker and Hon. Benjamin Kalu as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 10th National Assembly, scheduled to be inaugurated in June 2023. With their exceptional legislative achievements, impeccable character, and demonstrated leadership qualities, they are the ideal candidates to unite the 360 representatives and help President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu fulfil his promises to the Nigerian people.

Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, representing Zaria Federal Constituency, has an impressive track record in the National Assembly. As an educationist, he embarked on his political journey in 2011 and was re-elected in 2015 under the All Progressives Congress (APC). Throughout his tenure, he has served on various House committees, including National Planning & Economic Development, Public Procurement, Defense, Social Duties, Finance, and Commerce. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Land Transport.

Hon. Tajudeen Abbas has sponsored a remarkable 74 bills within the life of the National Assembly, with 21 of them signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari. Some notable bills include amendments to the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission Act, Public Procurement Act, National Youths Welfare Scheme Fund (Establishment) Bill, Nigerian National Honours and Merit Award Commission Bill, and various bills establishing Federal Medical Centres and Federal Universities of Technology.

His legislative prowess, integrity, and the respect he commands among his colleagues make him a deserving candidate for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Hon. Benjamin Kalu, representing Bende Federal Constituency, has also distinguished himself as a promising lawmaker. Despite being a newcomer, he has sponsored over 40 impactful bills, surpassing the achievements of many long-serving legislators. Some of his notable bills include the Federal College of Education Bende (Establishment) Bill, Industrial Development (Income Tax Relief) Act (Amendment) Bill, and Dangerous Drugs Act (Amendment) Bill.

As the Chairman of the Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Benjamin Kalu has demonstrated exceptional competence, intelligence, and capacity in discharging his legislative duties. His recent success in having a bill to alter the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari showcases his dedication to effecting positive change through legislation.
