Lagos, Nigeria – Nigerian music sensation Wizkid has made history with his latest album “Morayo”, achieving the biggest opening week streams on Spotify for an African album.
According to Spotify’s latest charts, “Morayo” racked up an impressive 52.8 million streams in its opening week, surpassing Tyla’s previous record of 46.4 million streams for her album “Tyla”.
Burna Boy’s “I Told Them…” also made the top three, with 37.6 million streams.
This achievement solidifies Wizkid’s position as one of Africa’s most successful artists, and demonstrates the growing global demand for African music.
