The Federal Government has intensified efforts to stop the planned national protest scheduled for August 1, with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, describing the protest as “politically induced”.
Wike, who spoke during an inspection tour of the Apo Karshi Road in Abuja, accused the protest organisers of seeking to divert attention from the President Bola Tinubu-led administration’s efforts to address the country’s challenges.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu has urged the organisers of the ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest to shelve their plans, asking them to await the government’s response to their complaints. Information Minister Mohammed Idris disclosed this after a meeting with the President on Tuesday.
