Aliyu UmarBorussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi has shared why he opted to play for Germany instead of Nigeria.
Born in Munich to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother, the 23-year-old was eligible to represent any of the three nations.
Ultimately, Adeyemi decided to commit to Germany.
“It’s a tough question I’ve had to explain it to my dad many times,” the former Red Bull Salzburg striker told Oma Sports.
“I received an offer from the German Football Association, and I had a really good feeling about it. In the end, I chose to play for Germany. It was that simple.”
So far, he has earned six caps for Germany and scored once.
