BONA NAIJAThe Labour Party governorship candidate for Imo state, Athan Achonu, and scores of his supporters stormed the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja, on Thursday, November 23, to demand the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the result of the just-concluded poll in the state.
According to PUNCH Online, Achonu, accompanied by the National Youth Leader, Kennedy Ahanotu, accused the electoral umpire of playing double standard in the November 11 off-cycle election.

The long procession, showing demonstrators chanting solidarity songs and displaying different banners read: “INEC Give Us Our CTC,” “Respect Our Law,” and “INEC Has Become Headache to Nigerian People,” caused a gridlock.
The protest comes two weeks after Hope Uzodimma polled 540,308 votes to beat Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party, who scored 71,503 votes, and Achonu, who scored 64,081 votes after which INEC declared Uzodimma the winner of the election.However, the two opposition candidates who were not satisfied with the results, rejected it while declaring that electoral irregularities marred the election.
