Self Acclaimed African Giant, BURNA BOY has dazzled music lovers with his scintillating performance at the 2023 edition of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Coachella, which is an annual music and arts festival, kicked off on Friday night at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
The Grammy-winning singer thrilled the audience with an electrifying performance of hit songs like ‘It’s Plenty,’ ‘Killin Dem,’ and ‘Alone’.
Burna Boy is the only Nigerian artiste on the line-up. This will also be his first time on the festival schedule since he criticised the organisers four years ago.
Burna Boy and Mr Eazi were announced as headliners at the 2019 Coachella.
The ‘Twice As Tall’ crooner, however, refused the invitation and lashed out at the printing of his name in small font on the flier of the show, describing himself as an “African giant”.
“Coachella, I appreciate you. But I don’t appreciate the way my name is written so small in your bill,” Burna Boy wrote on Instagram at the time.
“I am an AFRICAN GIANT and will not be reduced to whatever that tiny writing means. Fix tings quick please.”
Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is one of the most famous music festivals in the United States.
This year’s event is slated to run on two consecutive weekends — from April 14 to 16 and then again from April 21 to 23.
Other singers headlining the event are Bad Bunny, Frank Ocean, and Blackpink.
