Tragic Accident on Enugu-Onitsha Highway Claims Four Lives

- FRSC says no fewer than four persons lost their lives in a ghastly auto accident on the Ugwu Onyeama axis of the Enugu-Onitsha highway.
On June 11, a devastating auto crash occurred on the Ugwu Onyeama axis of the Enugu-Onitsha highway, resulting in the loss of four lives . A trailer carrying kerosene lost control and collided with six other vehicles, including cars and a bus, between 6:45 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Adeyemi Sokunbi, the FRSC sector commander, confirmed the incident and reported that two individuals died instantly, while two others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. The crash involved 29 people, and 10 injured victims were rushed to the National Orthopaedic Hospital in Enugu.

The FRSC commander emphasized the importance of road safety, expressing gratitude that the trailer was not carrying petrol, which could have led to a more catastrophic outcome.
He urged motorists to ensure their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on journeys, as mechanically deficient vehicles can pose a significant risk to others on the road .
