Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense team is celebrating a major victory after the rapper was acquitted of RICO and sex trafficking charges.
Lead counsel Marc Agnifilo expressed confidence that his team will continue to fight until Diddy is a free man.
“We are not nearly done fighting. We are just getting started,” Agnifilo said during a press conference.
He praised the jury for their diligence and emphasized that the acquittal on these serious charges is a significant step towards vindicating his client.
While Diddy was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, he was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Agnifilo maintained that his client was “absolutely innocent” of the charges for which he was acquitted and expressed optimism about the prospects of appealing the convictions.
The defense team’s determination to secure Diddy’s freedom is unwavering, with Agnifilo stating that they will “win” and ensure Diddy walks out of prison to his family.
Diddy will remain in custody until his sentencing hearing, where the prosecution is seeking a sentence of four to five years.
Despite the convictions, Agnifilo’s remarks suggest that the defense will continue to mount a vigorous challenge to the prosecution’s case.
The outcome of the sentencing hearing will be crucial in determining Diddy’s fate, and his defense team is clearly preparing for a long and contentious legal battle ahead.
