Rema Set To Make History At Coachella 2025
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema is set to electrify the global music scene as he secures a highly-anticipated performance slot at Coachella 2025, joining an elite list of African artists making waves at the world’s largest music festival.
Following his record-breaking success with ‘Calm Down Remix’ featuring Selena Gomez, which surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube and 1 billion on-demand streams in the US, Rema’s Coachella debut solidifies his position as a leading force in Afrobeats and African music.
According to the festival’s recently released digital flier, Rema will be joined by fellow African artists Seun Kuti, Amaarae, and Tyla. This lineup marks a significant milestone for African music, showcasing its growing global influence.
This achievement adds to Rema’s impressive résumé, which includes selling out London’s 02 Arena with his “Ravage Uprising” show in November 2023. He joins an elite group of Nigerian artists, including Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake, who have also sold out the iconic venue.
Seun Kuti, who will be returning to Coachella, was the first Nigerian artist to perform at the festival in 2012. Other Nigerian artists who have graced the Coachella stage include Mr. Eazi, Burna Boy, Ckay, and Tems.
Coachella, dubbed the world’s biggest music and arts festival, attracts over 125,000 attendees annually. Rema’s performance will undoubtedly further cement his status as a global music sensation and pave the way for future African artists.
