Despite the recent agreement between organized labor and the federal government on a new salary structure, not all Nigerian workers will benefit from the new national minimum wage.
According to a report by Vanguard on Thursday, July 25, certain establishments are exempt from paying the new minimum wage. These include:

The Minister of Labour and Employment or the Executive Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission may also grant exemptions to other businesses deemed reasonably justified.
This exemption list was revealed by a 10-man sub-committee of the tripartite committee, comprising representatives from government, labor, and the private sector.
