In a letter dated November 9, Kanu expressed concern over the illegal detention of IPOB members without trial and inhumane conditions.

He emphasized the need for a judicial order, stating that the delay in hearing the appeal contributes to the government treating IPOB members as terrorists.

Kanu commended the justices of the Court of Appeal who discharged him of the treason charge, noting their courage and mastery of international law.
