NDLEA Arrests Nigerian Businessman at Abuja Airport for Ingesting 74 Wraps of Heroin, Cocaine
A 48-year-old Nigerian businessman, Orizu Ifeanyi Arthur, was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on December 22, 2024.
Orizu was attempting to board an Air France flight to Paris, France, when he was caught with 74 wraps of heroin and cocaine, which he had ingested. He was taken into custody for excretion observation and excreted the drugs over a period of seven days.
According to NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, Orizu claimed he was promised 3,000 Euros for delivering the consignment in Paris. He allegedly owns a shop at Balogun market, Lagos Island, where he sells school and travelling bags.
