Muhammadu Buhari Comments on Leaving APC

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has clarified rumors about his departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that he remains a loyal member of the party. In a statement signed by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, Buhari emphasized his commitment to the APC, expressing gratitude for the support he received during his presidency.
Buhari’s clarification comes amid speculation sparked by Nasir El-Rufai’s recent defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP). El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna state, claimed that he consulted Buhari before leaving the APC .

In his statement, Buhari reiterated his loyalty to the APC, stating, “I am an APC member, and I like to be addressed as such. I will try to popularise the party by all means.” He also acknowledged the party’s role in his presidency, saying he would never turn his back on the party that gave him two terms in office.
“Without referring to any individual, cast of characters, or issues, principles and ideals currently being discussed by Party leaders at various levels, former President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated what he’s said times without number, that he is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) @OfficialAPCNg, and would like to be addressed as a loyal member of the party. “He says he wants to leave no one in doubt that he would never turn his back on the Party that gave him two terms of office, and would do whatever he can to popularise it. “I am an APC member and I like to be addressed as such. I will try to popularise the party by all means.”
