‘King of Steeze’ Farooq Oreagba Steals the Spotlight Again at Ojude Oba 2025

Farooq Oreagba, Managing Director and CEO of NG Clearing Limited, made a triumphant and stylish return to the Ojude Oba Festival on Saturday, nearly a year after his viral appearance in 2024 earned him the now-iconic nickname: “Mr Steeze.”

Held annually in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, the Ojude Oba Festival is one of Nigeria’s most vibrant cultural spectacles, celebrating Yoruba heritage and paying homage to the Awujale of Ijebuland. The festival, which dates back to the 19th century, features colourful parades by age-grade groups (regberegbe), traditional dances, flamboyant fashion, and thrilling equestrian displays.

Oreagba first captured national and global attention in 2024 when a video of him confidently riding a horse—cigar in hand, exuding effortless charm—spread rapidly across social media. This year, at 58, he doubled down on his “King of Steeze” status with an even more striking appearance.

Sharing his look on Instagram, Oreagba posted:

Clad in a regal brown and grey agbada with matching sokoto and cap, Oreagba accessorized with bold silver jewellery, including a Cuban link chain, bracelet, and rings. His look was completed with a black staff topped with a lion-headed sceptre, underscoring his kingly aura.

Festival attendees and online admirers were once again captivated by Oreagba’s impeccable blend of tradition, modern flair, and charismatic presence—securing his place as an enduring cultural icon and symbol of stylish Yoruba pride.
